Dr Malinga, every ready to give us a high kick move, might have found a new way to speak to the ancestors. His latest video sees him kicking it with the dead on a song featuring DJ Rtex & Beat Movement.
Dr Malinga’s new song Ngiyolala Ngifile, or for the English speaking fans "over my dead body”, was shot at the Kanana Cemetery in Hammanskraal, Tshwane.
Graves and tombstones are seen in the background while they dance and sing. We love a good jive now and then but haai, dancing at a graveyard is something we save for American movies and Halloween.
Then there comes the twerking. Sjoe! Can we show some respect for the dead, please? Side note though, the Kanana Cemetery in Hammanskraal, Tshwane, is looking rather dry. Maybe Malinga’s dancing will bring rain.
How do the fans feel about the video?
"My Question: Isn't he risking getting badlucks dancing on top of those who are resting? I'm just so concerned and uncomfortable watching this music video.” says Seipati Edmund.
"I've never been so uncomfortable watching a video before than i am now.” added Timmy Mash.
This comment from 'MyBuba the genius' was our favorite: "The day He went to bury his music career ⚰️ permanently Dont play at the cemetery DEAR Sir.”
And Malinga’s response?
“When funeral parlours and businesses go there and shoot adverts, no one says anything. During some funerals music is played. People mustn’t fear death because of my video,” he said
