AKA becomes the latest celeb in trouble with the tax man

It’s been almost seven months after rapper Aka officially parted ways with record label Vth Season after having built a successful career, and since then, his former manager Raphael Benza and Aka have been going back and forth.

Rapper Aka took to Twitter to accuse Vth Season of planting false stories about him in the media because of them struggling to “keep the lights on”

Aka went on to tweet that he had been a good seed to the company saying that he had given the company the best years of his life and the only reason they are coming for him, is because they realized that they had run at a loss, repeating the same statement he made in an interview with Azania on 702.

Aka has been making headlines for appearing in court with his former manager Raphael Benza for allegedly owing the company R500 000 and according to the recent report, the rapper now allegedly owes about R2 million in penalties with SARS, However his lawyer blames the manager for that fault.

“He [Benza] created this. As his manager, it was his responsibility to advise him about all financial and tax issues as part of his management duties, in accordance with a management agreement,” Aka’s lawyer Oupa Baloyi  said in a recent interview with City Press after adding that the tax penalties could have been avoided if Benza had done the right thing.

Aka went on to claim in a series of tweets that the bad reports of him in the headlines are a result of his former manager not having money to take him to court.

We reached out to his former manager Raphael Benza for a comment and this is what he had to say:

"I'll be happy to make a comment should Aka mention my name or Vth Season. Right now his rant has nothing to do with me. It's cowardly and paranoia to think someone is out to get you."
