Sir John is well-known for working with Hollywood's A-List celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé.
The collaboration was initially released last year and now they are back for a second line of beauty products carrying Sir John's name.
Earlier this month Unathi took to Instagram shared a clip that announced that Sir John would be returning to Woolworths shelves and revealed that the campaign was shot almost a year ago but didn't reveal the big news.
Unathi on Thursday shared news of her being the face of the collection called Reign and Shine.
"A collection that celebrates our diverse beauty as South African women. The collection is called ‘Reign and Shine’ to celebrate us as we do so on this planet as the royalty that we are," shared Unathi.
In her post, Unathi shared the first time she collaborated with Woolworths in 2004 on the ‘Be Yourself’ campaign alongside Uncle Hugh Masekela, Tata Desmond Tutu and other South African giants.
"SJ your love for us is overwhelming and humbling, to say the least. Your love for women all over the world is unmistakable and the active work you do across the globe, fighting for human rights is admirable. Thank you both for choosing me," shared the radio presenter.
Woolworths beauty brand communication head Shaheda Sayed shared more about the retailer's international production collaboration, speaking to Business Insider.
“Having developed a strong working relationship with Sir John over the past few years, collaborating on a bespoke product line with the makeup maestro was a natural next step,” Sayed told the publication.
Unathi's comment section was filled with congratulatory messages from her friends, fans and followers.
Her dear friend Minnie Dlamini-Jones wrote, "It's out, congratulations", actress Buhle Samuels commented, "Congratulations such a befitting collaboration".
Unathi this week also introduced MaXhosa Africa’s virtually held New York Fashion Week show.
The book author earlier this year returned to the airwaves at Kaya FM after leaving Metro FM after what she describes as "a painful exit".
Unathi opened up about what transpired when she was interviewed on #BehindtheStory by Pearl Thusi in 2019. One of the main reasons she left had to do with a disagreement with the station's bigwigs.
