Mamelodi Sundowns and midfielder Andile Jali will go their separate ways this week, his agent has confirmed to SABC Sport.
It was no secret this would be the outcome following reports that the 33-year-old had stopped training with the club after allegedly arriving at their Chloorkop base under the influence of alcohol.
Jali hasn’t played for Downs since February against Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup round of 32, coming on as a substitute.
Now it seems that in light of the floating allegations that he might be facing a drinking problem. It seems that a social media user wanted to “expose” Andile, which did not have the desired effect on social media for the user.
Tweep gets backlash over Andile Jali “alcoholic” allegations
Recently, a tweep took to Twitter to share a video of Andile Jali buying alcohol. In their caption, they shared their disgust at the player allegedly throwing away his career by comparing him to the likes of Jabu Mahlangu and Junior Kanye.
Safe to say, it did not take long for his fans and social media users that believed that this was an invasion of Jali’s privacy.
Moreover, the social media user should be ashamed for even comparing a 33-year-old who played as one of the best players at the height of his career and “soccer age,” to players that wasted away at their prime.

This is not the first time that this has happened. As reported:
…The problem came from a Tik Tok which features Andile speaking about his drinking habits. In the video in question, Andile asserts that one telltale sign that he has had too much to drink is when he leans on the nearest corner of the club and rests his eyes.
The beloved player explains that even waking him up only means that he will wake up only to leave the location to go and sleep.
For the most part, the video is innocent enough at the first watch. However, it only took the video being circulated on Twitter for the conversation and debate to be sparked as to whether it is appropriate for a soccer star to be so candid about their drinking.
