Busisiwe ‘CiCi’ Thwala has vowed to continue her fight for justice following news that her ex-boyfriend Arthur Mafokate has been acquitted of assault

Arthur was charged with assault after an argument at his home in 2017. The altercation reportedly ended with Cici being dragged for 300 metres while she held onto the handle of the 999 Boss’ car door. She suffered a broken pelvis and had to use crutches to help her walk.

Arthur described Cici’s abuse allegations as “baseless”, and insisted he was innocent. To which he opened a counter-charge of assault after the incident, claiming Cici hit him with a clothing hanger and threw a steel chair at him.

The R&B musician was found not guilty of assault in 2018 after a Midrand court ruled that Arthur's affidavit was vague.

Referring to his acquittal, the King of Kwaito said he has “mixed feelings."

“A lot of time and dignity has been taken away from him and it would take many years to rebuild,” his lawyer said in a statement.

But Arthur might not be off the hook just yet.

Cici’s says she will file a civil case against the kwaito star.

“I place on record that I will seek redress in alternative avenues, as the dismissal prevents the accused’s version from being placed before court and the public,” she said in a statement released by her lawyers.

Cici also shared a video on her Twitter page, reacting to Arthur’s acquittal.

“My fight will continue until the truth is brought to light,” she captioned the clip.
