When they say the entertainment industry is very fickle and it is not for the faint-hearted, they are not joking. Being a public figure or holding top a position, comes with its own pitfalls, but the public and Black Twitter can add to the stress level too.

While we all know that Black Twitter can be very brutal, even when it comes to serious matters, sometimes other events are just not one to joke about, because they are very touching and we react differently to things.

This morning, former SABC news anchor Asanda Magaqa, who served as the Department of Arts and Culture's spokesperson, took to Twitter to vent out her frustrations about how many reacted to the news, that she is no longer serving as the spokesperson for the department.

Yesterday, Asanda was replaced by TV personality Masechaba Ndlovu, who was appointed as the new spokesperson for the department by Minister Nathi Mthethwa.

But, Asanda became a mockery on social media. She said the most shattering moment about this whole, has to be the mockery from strangers and damaging insinuations she has been subjected to.

In a Twitter thread, she said: " What has shattered my heart most... Is not the news I woke up to; not your collective "why's"&"how's"... But seeing my name as a subject of speculation, jokes, & damaging insinuations... & seeing strangers mock & laugh at me as I undergo a devastating moment in my life."

While it is still unclear on whether she was fired, or she found out on social media, Asanda said she is taking a brief sabbatical from social media and those who want to laugh off, are free to do so, but they should know that God has carried her through the worst.

Fans swarmed her post with messages consoling her for the devastating reactions.
