A Twitter user shared the snap on Twitter with the caption "What happened to Babes Wodumo" accompanied by a broken heart emoji.

Tweeps commented on the post sharing their different views, and some defended Babes, saying people should stop mocking her for her weight loss because they do not know why the musician has lost weight.

This is not the first time Babes Wodumo's weight loss has got tongues wagging. The self-proclaimed queen of gqom recently trended after a snap of her showing her drastic weight loss with her boyfriend Mampintsha, went viral on social media.

Mampintsha also had fans shocked to the core when a video of him showing his massive weight loss went viral on social media. Speaking to Ilanga Langesonto, the musician decided to set the record straight and said he decided to pursue a healthy eating routine.

Babes recently received her platinum plaque for the aforementioned debut album and she reflected on her past.

"I was pretty wild in my younger days and you don't have to do what I did. You don't have to make the mistakes I made. The future's in your hands now. And the world really is yours. It's been really hectic lately and I never got a chance to officially thank you'll formally. Dreams delayed are never Dreams denied. Fast forward 5 years later #GqomQueenGoesMultiPlatinum," she wrote.

The musician recently released the second album Idandokazi, many have reckoned that she is back by popular demand. It is no secret that Babes had a controversial 2019 which saw her fall from grace, but she has recovered from all the drama.

This follows her tumultuous relationship with Mampintsha, which saw her being assaulted by Mampinthsa in a live video, and her social media accounts getting hacked.

The singer recently trended on social media after she went live on Instagram with Durban-based entertainer Tha Simelane who accused her of allegedly taking cocaine. Speaking to ZAlebs Babes said she has decided to pursue a legal route to sue him, for defamation of character but said she could not divulge too much information about the case as it is being handled by the police.

"Tha's case is still being handled by the SAPS which I can't really say anything much about it," she said.
