Apparently, the abuse started in 2014 and according to Enhle, it has been downhill from there. Now, the actress is taking a stand and not only is she using her voice, but she is helping other women use theirs. Gender based violence has caused many women to lose their lives and Enhle is fighting this pandemic itself.
She has announced that she is the ambassador of the Winnie Mandela Cup for 2021, which fights all things abuse against women and children. "I’m so proud and filled with joy to announce I am the ambassador of the @winnie_mandela_cup2021. I pledge to in my personal life and career to stand up against GBV. Pledge to be a Minnie Winnie in the fight, as that’s what the cup stands for."
The tournament which will take place soon aims at raising awareness about the cause and also a virtual concert will be taking place in April.
Today, Enhle posted a footage from the GBV activists protesting outside the Randburg court, showing their support to her. "God, thank you," she wrote and the video shows people holding placards which read "Enough is Enough," and "We believe you."
Taking to her comments section are women and men showering her with support and words of encouragement, "Big up Enhle! Phansi with Domestic Violence phansi. I always say we shouldn’t wait until a woman is killed and say justice for so and so and wear black clothes after they are dead.
"Standing by u Enhle....The fact that u were brave enough to speak up is a victory on its own...many women don't even live to tell d tale. God bless n be with u & your fam thru & thru.
"Enhle you are loved, you are important, you are beautiful and you mean something. Big up sisi, we are with you all the way."
In her protection order, Enhle said, "Nathi asked me why I was throwing a dinner without his permission. I then asked why I needed his permission, and he said because it’s his house. I then told him it’s our home and am puzzled, he then threatened to call the cops to shut it down. He was at this point shouting…and the guests that had already arrived where watching.”
