The Legacy SA actor Anton David Jeftha has bagged himself two roles in two Hollywood movies and one locally produced comedy movie called, The Gang which is set to be released in 2022.
According to the Entertainment Alert, the movie, “follows a group of friends who embark on a rescue mission to save one of their friends. Their rescue skills leave much to be desired and the suave six leave utter chaos in their wake.”
The Gang wrapped up filming on June 8th. The movie is directed by Kganki ‘Star’ Mphahlele and stars Armand Aucamp, Kagiso Modupe, Joey Rasdien, Anton David Jeftha, Xolani Mayekiso and Carpo supported by Pearl Modiadie, Seputla Sebogodi, and many others.
The Cape Town heartthrob will also be starring in the American movie “Escape Room 2” which will be released on July 16 this year and also in the American comedy film “Contrast” which is said to be in post-production.
Escape Room Two is the sequel to the 2019 sci-fi thriller Escape Room that follows six people from different walks of life participating in an escape room competition to win a lump sum of money; however, things change when they find themselves in challenging life or death situations.
The Entertainment Alert said that Anton Jeftha has been based in Los Angeles since 2016. He came down to South Africa to visit some family when the pandemic hit and had to stay here for a while. He is most popular for his role as Sebastian Price on the local telenovela Legacy.
He booked the role of SJ when he least expected It and has been in the country ever since. He even booked a romance with South Africa’s darling Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo. The universe is clearly looking out for Anton and it seems things work best for him when he is in South Africa.
Boity and Anton have not confirmed their romance but it seems they have been giving out subtle hints about their budding romance. With the duo always supporting each other’s wins on Instagram, we are almost convinced that they are enjoying spending some much needed time with each other.
In April, Jeftha shared some snaps from the launch of Thulo’s new alcoholic drink BTS Signature, congratulating her on being the first African Black woman to own an RTD beverage.
He said, “A @btsignature cheers to the first black African woman to create and own an RTD beverage. Congrats Queen @boity on your new venture, it was an honour attending the launch of your special evening.” If that is not sweet, we don’t know what is.
In March 2021, the popcornroom shared a DM from a fan claiming that he/she spotted the two looking very cosy at a restaurant in Johannesburg. One thing about South Africans, they are always on the lookout. We may not have the paparazzi lurking in bushes and ambushing our ZAlebs with flashing lights, but we know every South African is Paparazzo. We love it.
Congrats to Anton. We hope he will stay in the country a bit more because we love seeing him on our screens.
