Arguably, a big part of the anticipation was that part of the new incoming cast members of the season was none other than beloved media personality Bonang Matheba. However, it quickly became apparent that while the viewing audience might have been excited to mark the introduction of Queen B* to the world of the series.
It would seem that the rest of the cast was not as happy to see her. Whether as it was suspected, Nadia Nakai who shares an ex with Matheba, or the rest of the cast. Even Khanyi Mbau surprisingly did not like the introduction of Matheba. A fact which has resulted in the narrative that Khanyi might have been jealous of Bonang.

The tension between Bonang and Luis was already teased in the extended trailer for the new season. However, in watching season two of Young, Famous & African the cause of the tension was revealed.
Primarily, it seemed that it was due to Swanky Jerry spreading a lie as to why Luis initially had a problem with Matheba.
However, as the two met for the first time and it seemed that Luis was more into Fantana rather than Bonang. It quickly seemed like Matheba might have been a little jealous of the fact due to her arguably undeserved outburst.

As such, when she was told that she did portray attributes of a bully during her confrontation with Luis. Matheba addressed it with an “apology.”
However, it does seem that the apology was meant only half-heartedly. This is as when Matheba was asked if she had any intentions of returning to the reality show in the future following her “short visit,” she made it clear that it seems unlikely.
This stance might be a good thing as it seems that even her fans seemed to think that the show was bad look for their queen….
