Every citizen in the country is obligated to pay taxes, be it the President, a celebrity or an ordinary person, however, concerns were raised this past weekend after it was reported that Bonang Matheba had allegedly been embroiled in tax drama.
This past weekend, Sunday World raised a lot of brows after they reported that the media personality had allegedly appeared at the Joburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Wednesday after failing to submit her full tax returns. The paper went on to allege that the matter was postponed indefinitely pending further investigations.
With the many vacations that Matheba has embarked on and the luxurious lifestyle that she seems to be living, social media was set alight by the reports as many fans were puzzled by the allegations made against her. Taking to Twitter, her fans expressed their concerns questioning the validity of the reports.
Is the story of bonang on tax fraud true ?

Its failure by accountants or financial brookers, many celebs are victims to this, cauz they don't have time to handle & review their finances, its not by intention.

Responding to the claims, Matheba labelled the reports as trash saying that the journalists at that publication “...create fake news then run them as front page scoop!! Hilarious!! Trash. Just pure trash!”
The Twitter post was then followed by a tweet that alluded that she found the reports to be distasteful:
Yuck. The filth. 🤢

According to Sunday World, Matheba’s representative, Davin Phillips, who is the executive director of Celebrity Services Africa, allegedly responded to a private email sent by the publication by saying:
"It appears there are factual errors in your e-mail, Miss Matheba was never "summonsed to appear" and never "appeared on charges of tax fraud".
