According to TshisaLive, the Johannesburg Specialised Commercialised Crimes Court postponed Bonang Matheba's tax case to the 4th of October after she failed to appear in court last week while she was in New York City.
Bonang Matheba is reportedly being charged for taxes outstanding from 2008 to 2017 for personal tax and company tax from 2014 to 2017.
When Sunday World first broke the story, Bonang Matheba labelled the newspaper trash and according to Channel 24, Bonang is reportedly suing Sunday World for R10million in damages for running with the tax-fraud story.
She then stated that journalists create fake news then place the stories on their front-page.
According to Sunday World, Matheba’s representative, Davin Phillips, who is the executive director of Celebrity Services Africa, allegedly responded to a private email sent by the publication saying:
"It appears there are factual errors in your e-mail, Miss Matheba was never "summonsed to appear" and never "appeared on charges of tax fraud"
This is a devolping story that we will be following.
