According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, the actress had a salary dispute with the producers of the show which was unresolved, hence she decided to call it quits.
Avid viewers of the show have reacted with mixed reactions to her departure, with some complaining that her character is dull. A number of viewers have expressed their dislike for her role before, stating that it is not suitable for her. No one predicted that the actress would receive so much hate for her role because she has never disappointed fans on any other show.
To say Brenda is a great actress would be a major understatement. The manner in which she goes about delivering her artistry, leaves viewers in awe. The actress has worked with The Fegusons on several shows including Rockville, where she bagged her first SAFTA for that role. In addition, she was nominated for an Emmy award for the highly acclaimed role of Vuyo on Home affairs.
Others are dragging Ferguson Films for underpaying actors. This follows their highly publicized salary dispute with Vatiswa Ndara
Ndara penned a lengthy open letter to the minister of Arts and culture, Nathi Mthethwa in 2019 where she vented out her frustrations about exploitation in the industry. In the letter, the actress outlined the general state of the arts in South Africa in her letter. In response to her empowering and bold letter, other artists came forward to share their horrifying experiences with the Fergusons and the entertainment industry in general.
The Fergusons decided to take legal action against her because of her public commentary about the treatment she received from them. In the letter she claimed that she was offered R110 000 for her role as Nomarussia on Igazi before taxes over five weeks of work with no limit to calls. She ended up leaving the show and it appears she would never work with The Fergusons again.
The Queen also recently said goodbye to Cindy Mahlangu, who played the role of Siyanda for some time. However, the announcement included no explanation for her sudden exit.
Another actor who left is SK Khoza. The talented actor who played the role of Shaka Khoza was recently given the boot following assault allegations levelled by his ex-fiancée Ayanda Hlongwane against him. Sunday World reported that the actor was arrested after Mandy after he allegedly physically abused her.
This follows an incident that allegedly took place at Mandy's Fourways home where SK allegedly beat her up. The actor made an appearance at the Randburg magistrate court on October 13, where he received a bail of R2 000.
