Shortly after Mafokate’s drama with former 999 artist and ex-girlfriend, Busisiwe “Cici” Twala which saw her press assault charges against him and leave his label, 999 Music for Ambitious Records, Mafokate has lost yet another artist from his stable.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, Chomee, whose real name is Thulisile Madihlaba, confirmed the news, saying “I really need to learn to start doing certain things on my own. I’ve gained so much experience in showbiz, especially because I got into the industry as a kid. I don’t want to say a lot, but watch this space.”
An unnamed source reportedly told the publication that he decision was fueled by both the drama with Cici and the addition of another pretty young thing to the 999 stable after Cici’s departure.
The pretty young thing in question is Sindi Nene (pictured below) who was a top three finalist in the sixth season of Mzansi Magic show, Idols SA.
Mafokate didn’t want to say much about the matter, but his manager, Brian Mokoena was quoted as saying, “losing Chomee puts us on a back foot. But she’s been badly influenced and the sooner she realizes this, the better.”
