The controversial Generations actors had a press briefing last week, where they alleged that black actors were the lowest paid in the SABC's soapies, accusing the public broadcaster of racism, Sunday World reported.

However, the paper has allegedly proven that this was just a lie by revealing that the SABC’s highest paid actor is Sindi Dlathu, who plays Thandaza on SABC2's Muvhango, with a salary of about R80 000 a month.

The publication further revealed that white Isidingo cast member Robert Whitehead, who plays Barker Haines, was only number five on the SABC’s highest paid list.

According to Drum magazine, which quoted three independent sources from Rhythm City, Sello Maake Ka Ncube is the highest paid soap actor in the country with a salary of R120 000 per month.

He is followed by ‘Rhythm City’s Jamie Bartlett (David Genaro) and Moshede Motshegwa (Naomi), who both earn R100 000 per month.
