Dineo Ranaka has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late. Now, she once again tops trends for allegedly being difficult to work with.
Reports recently emerged online that a social media influencer was exposing the radio presenter for exploitation. According to the influencer, Dineo hired her to promote her make-up brand LuvDr at the beginning of December 2021.
However, one whole month after the services were rendered, she is yet to receive payment for the gig. She reached out to Dineo, whose response was both rude and annoying to Felicia Zwane, the influencer.
Dineo’s response had her claiming that her team was conducting investigations on the market rate for Felicia's services, and that they would get back to her with her money in due time.
Mzansi was not amused by the screenshots as shared by Felicia. What does not make sense to everyone is why Dineo and her team proceeded to hire Felicia without first establishing that her rates align with industry standards.
Social media users have poured into the comments to attempt to understand what Dineo’s thought process was as she sent her response. They think that as a responsible business woman, she should have ascertained the lady’s charges beforehand, perhaps even negotiated then if she needed to. It is unfair to hire her on one salary then change tune after she has completed the job and payment is due.
Tweeps are now branding Dineo difficult to work with, as they revisit a similar incident that happened in the past. Some time back, she is said to have refused to pay her former manager as well. The saga had to go to court, where she lost the case and was forced to pay the manager. Naturally, it also ruined their working relationship, which might explain why she had to find another manager.
Her character is also being questioned in general, especially in light of her other recent sagas. She was labelled a verbal abuser and an all round toxic woman after a video was leaked in which she was ranting at the man she was seeing then.
In the rant, she told the man that she had only used him to heal. She further insulted the man identified as Sechaba Thole, telling him she was out of his league, and that he should grow up.
In addition to her on-air rant in which she was accused of losing her cool and insulting a listener and Mzansi men at large, she seems to be crossing fans left and right. It is no wonder that many in the country now believe that she thinks of herself too highly.
