Surviving Dineo: She Is Accused Of Assault

Radio and reality TV personality Dineo Ranaka recently came out to say she would be hiring security to protect her because she was sick of being attacked. It initially seemed unprovoked, but news has now broken online of her being accused of allegedly assaulting Tengetile Khumalo.

According to social media reporter Musa Khawula, Tengetile has claimed that Dineo physically assaulted her at an event she was booked at. Dineo allegedly followed her to the bathroom, where the assault happened, after she denied Tengetile a selfie as requested.

Earlier on, the presenter went on Instagram to address the incident even before it broke on social media. She said that she was tired of being attacked then made out to look like the attacker.

She had further said that she was hurt, and tagged a restaurant, where we can guess that the incident happened. In the now-deleted Instagram post, she wrote “I’m so hurt. I’m really very hurt. But it’s cool. I’ll be aight… 🥺😢💔 @funkba_ I hope you’re proud of yourselves 🕯🤍🙏🏽“

Dineo made it clear that she would be hiring security to protect her, as she no longer feels safe. “It’s official my brand has grown that much. I am hiring security. I am tired of being attacked and being made out to look like an attacker,” she wrote.

As the news of her alleged assault on Tengetile hit social media, Mzansi is confused and split in two. Those who have been following along with news about Dineo in the past few months feel like she is becoming a bit too much. As one said, there will one day be a documentary called “Surviving Dineo”, as she seems to make headlines constantly for all the wrong reasons.

But others feel like something about the allegations doesn’t make sense. Tengetile said Dineo denied her a selfie, so she walked away. Later as she went to the bathroom, Dineo followed her and scratched her arm. The visual just doesn’t add up, because why would Dineo follow her after clearly refusing contact with her through the selfie. Fans think there is more to the story that both parties are not sharing, because as it is, someone is definitely lying.

The restaurant Dineo tagged in her initial post, Funk BA, has posts that indicate that she and Lerato Kganyago both hosted an event, Homecoming Sunday, just last night, which must be when everything went down. But they are yet to respond to the DJ’s or Tengetile’s allegations.

Lerato, too, has been silent. For now, we await further developments to the story.
