So, as it turns out, going gold on the first day is nothing new in South Africa.
A lot of people might have been surprised after rapper Ifani sold 20,000 copies of his album on the first day recently, but DJ Cleo is definitely not one of them.
Speaking on V-Entertainment, Cleo said: "A lot of people are surprised, they're saying he's [Ifian] lying. But I mean, I've been selling gold on the first day forever. I think the last time I did was... I did in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008."
He said it all boils down to planning. He also touched on guys "bragging about going platinum".
"It happens. But we've been platinum forever, for the last nine years or so. If you remember, Pitch Black Afro is still the highest selling hip hop artist ever in SA. We've got records to prove it."
Relax! Cleo did not just throw shade at someone. In fact, he said he respects all the artists out there. "However, all I'm saying is: I'm back in the game and I'm the one."
