According to reports in this weekend's Sunday papers, DJ Milkshake spent a few nights in prison after an unflattering run in with the police. The DJ was left humiliated after the arrest went public and is on a mission to clear his name.
Sunday World ran with an explosive headline this weekend claiming that DJ Milkshake had been shaken up after being pulled over for driving under the influence. The My Own hitmaker was nabbed by the metro police on his way to a gig last week Friday where officers determined that he was too far over the limit to be allowed to continue driving.
The DJ allegedly tried to plead his case before being told that he would be spending the night in jail. According to the same report, he even tried to explain that he could not face arrest as he was on his way to a gig.
Sunday World managed to lay eyes on an official police statement which read:
“The complainant [police officer] alleged that on the 2019/09/20 at about 21:15 [9.25pm] she was on duty doing [a] roadblock at Malibongwe and Hill Street in Ferndale.
She stopped a blue Audi A3 with reg no … driven by Kagiso Mabelane. She asked the driver to switch off his vehicle so that she can breathalyse him. Test proves 33.7mg/l alcohol in his breath. She arrests him for drunken driving,”
DJ Milkshake tried his best to deny the claims but police spokesperson, Makgowanyana Maja refuted the claim when he confirmed:
“I can confirm that the alleged person was arrested for drunk driving and released on bail the next day,”
It hasn't been a good week for DJ Milkshake. He also had his phone stolen on Sunday while he was waiting for an Uber (ironically, the mode of transport recommended for anybody who has had a drink or two).
