DJ Tira has taken to social media to gush over his wife Gugu Khathi on her special day. Makoya Bearings shared pictures of when the two of them were on vacation and as they say, picture tells a thousand words.
Tira let Gugu Khathi know how much she means to him and thanks God for placing her in his life. Gugu commented on his sweet post with "My ride or die."
Many fans and industry mates flocked Tira's post to wish Gugu a blissful birthday.
Gugu made headlines when she was reportedly attacked when they made an appearance at AKA's late fiancée Anele Tembe's funeral service. She was targeted for mainly wearing pants to the funeral where as women, especially married, are expected to wear dresses or skirts at events such as these.
Before that, according to Sunday World, Gugu teamed up with RHOJ's Brinette, to wrestle Christall Kay at a club in Pretoria. The ladies got into it and they, Gugu and Christall changed to comfortable shoes to allegedly fight Christall
Christall told the publication that Gugu punched her in the eye, resulting in a black eye, even though she claims to have not confronted her in any way. Gugu just charged at her whilst enjoying her drinks “Gugu Khathi is the one who punched me in the eye, resulting in a black eye. She did this when I was sitting down and there was no threat to her,” Christall said.
Kay added that Gugu regrets beating her up, so she has decided to open charges against her, “I have evidence to prove this. She is scared over what she has done and is trying to make out a case against me. Charges are currently being laid against her."
Gugu was shook when her "best friend" outed only her whereas she claims many other people fought her that night, “I can confirm the incident happened, but what shocks is that fact that out of all the people in the club, how can Christal choose my name, there were too many people in that club, why does she pick me, besties don’t do that to each other.”
Also making headlines for the negative reasons is her husband Tira after he and Uthando Nes'thembu's MaNgwbe wrestled over Makhadzi. When she performed in KZN for the first time, it was all because of Tira and she thanked him. But when he saw a poster by Mbali Ngwabe, he was fuming.
Makhadzi was booked to perform at Tira's two events in KZN: Nsimbini Lifestyle, Efolweni, and Prince Lounge 21, and according to the papers, she was not to perform anywhere else.
Mbali in a statement said she had hosted President Cyril Ramaphosa at her venue, but said Makhadzi was merely a guest who was going to meet her fans.
"The word touchdown on the poster and the time she was going to arrive at Maqaqa (11am) should be able to shed the light that she was not booked for a performance. Upon the onset of controversy surrounding her visit at M.E.L, MaQaQa's Management held a conference call with Makhadzi and her manager where a decision to withdraw her visit was taken."
