Kwaito legend Eugene Mthethwa looks to be on the verge of divorcing his wife Londiwe if reports are to be believed.
Although this past weekend was one which was dominated by weddings and marriages; Somizi and Mohale tied the knot, while Bontle and Priddy Ugly also made it official. However, it's a massive divorce that has caught the eye as rumours of a falling out between Eugene Mthethwa and his wife Londiwe made Sunday headlines in this weekend's papers.
According to Sunday World, the Trompies star has even gone as far as moving out of their family home in Midrand and has taken up residence in their Bloubosrand-based home in Johannesburg.
But what caused this seemingly irreparable rift? According to the paper's sources, the couple has been on rocky ground since a massive fight in 2017 changed everything in their marriage. One of their specific sources claimed to have been shocked that they couldn't work things out when they said to the paper:
“It was unexpected, we were shocked. Now she has asked for a divorce and wants to move on with her life,”.
It hasn't been a good year for Eugene Mthethwa who has also been alienated by his former band members in music group Trompies after his beef with minister Nathi Mthethwa escalated.
His co-members were quoted as saying:
“It’s like we’re in this thing together, but we aren’t. If he indeed said those things, they were his personal opinion and not that of Trompies or Kalawa Jazmee Records. This is hurting us because we’re now affected by it. Our gig was cancelled as a result of his alleged utterance. We don’t want to be involved in this whole saga.”
