Benedict, popularly known as "Akhona" on "Generations", appeared on charges of theft.
She was accused of stealing a R17,90 packet of headache pills at Checkers in Johannesburg’s Cresta Mall in 2013.
The now Ashes to Ashes actress said she had bought the pills three weeks prior to her arrest.
Maggie Benedict: The pills were mine
Her lawyer, Advocate WC Carstens said "the accused’s version can’t be rejected."
However, Prosecutor Yusuf Baba used Benedict's statement against her.
He said: "Three weeks after they were bought, the pills were still sealed, yet she suffers frequent headaches!"
He said the court should find Maggie guilty.
During the last court appearance in March, Benedict told Daily Sun that police arrested her to get promotions as arresting well-known people plays a part in promotions.
