We've all seen sad stories about famous musicians and football dying poor. Their families sometimes have to rely on the public for donations to cover funeral costs. Sometimes people find themselves in these situations because of poor financial decisions.
While speaking on Power FM on Monday afternoon, Itumeleng Khune, highlighted a problem faced by soccer players in Mzansi - competition.
The Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana player said: "The problem with us footballers, we look at what the next person has and we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure. You see Itumeleng Khune driving this car. Yes, you don't know what Itumeleng Khune earns, and you know what you earn, you know what you can afford but you just take a rope and you tie yourself and you wanna compete with Itumeleng Khune. Compete with Itumeleng Khune on the field to win the number one... Don't compete with him with material things..."
He added: "That's the problem we're facing in the country, not only with footballers but random people out there. They like to see someone out there doing something and they wanna do it better than them and it's not the right time for them to do it."
