Khanyi Mbau is seething after social media users described her as the original recipient of blessings, also known as a "blessee".

The 30-year-old set the record straight about her former lifestyle on Wednesday, and remained a trending topic on Friday.

Khanyi and former millionaire Mandla Mthembu were the talk of the town back in the day, when "blessers" were known as sugar daddies.

The couple had matching Lamborghinis, designer clothes, and a lifestyle envied by many.

That was, until Mandla reportedly went broke.

Khanyi was also involved with Theunis Crous, her married lover, who allegedly funded her lifestyle with R30, 000 a month.

"I was tearing down walls. Breaking taboos. Because of me, younger girls now have the confidence to walk around holding hands publicly with their sugar daddies. They're inspired by my story," she was quoted as saying in the tell-all book, B*tch, please! I'm Khanyi Mbau

Khanyi has moved on since then to build a career herself, and is supporting her own lifestyle.

But some haters can't help reminding her of her past, and even went a far as to suggest this week, that Khanyi was responsible for  the current "blesser" craze in South Africa.

When one Twitter user put it to her that she married her blesser, Mandla Mthembu, Khanyi had this response:

Khanyi was still trending on Twitter on Friday, two days after her tweets. She may not be a "blessee" (someone who receives blessings from "blessers") but she certainly still knows how to keep people talking.

Take that haters!
