Before Bonang's resignation from the station, Lerato mentioned how she had advised Bonang to thing about the decision she was about to make.
Lerato Kganyago has opened up about Bonang Matheba's resignation from Metro FM. Bonang's exit came just after hosting one show - The Front Row - with Lerato, and it came as a shock to the nation.
Speaking to Anele Mdoda on Real Talk with Anele recently, she said: "I think I'm still very much puzzled about it. I haven't spoken her since then, I haven't seen her since then. The last thing I said to her, and she'll say it because she got up after the show and she said, uhm... 'I'm resigning', and I said 'whoa, okay'."
She said after the show, she told Bonang: "Don't ever make emotional decisions. I said 'wait for a week, see how you feel, feel it out and then come back and make a decision'. That's what I said to her, and she will tell you, I mean if she wants to, that is.
"And that's the last time I spoke to her and the next thing I just saw tweets and yeah, that she was gone."
When asked why she thinks Bonang resigned, Lerato said: "I have no idea. I think that would be very unfair of me, I can't think for her. She knows why she made her decision, and I respect her, though, she's a grown woman, she's allowed to make her own decisions."
