When talking about the serious issues that plague society, saying that "it can happen to anyone" is not a scare tactic, it is a fact. And Lexi Van sharing her past struggles with TB is proof of this.
Seeing as today is #WorldTBDay, the former Big Brother Mzansi housemate took to Twitter to share the fact that she was diagnosed with TB during her first year in college and that she has to go through a lot just to beat the disease.
TB can happen to anyone.Make sure you wash your hands&food thoroughly, cough/sneeze into your arm.Wear a mask when,if necessary #WorldTBDay

She also urged her followers to go and get tested if they are displaying any symptoms.
Go and have yourself checked out. If a cough is persistent. Coughing blood. Loss of appetite. Know the signs. Know the symptoms #WorldTBDay

Go to your local clinics or day hospital. Go for a sputum. It's free. TB kills but detected in time, you can heal #WorldTBDay
