In 2022, Makhadzi affirmed herself as the Queen of Bolobedu Music. This is as she put her humble and tumultuous beginnings in music in the past and was celebrated by not just the people of Limpopo but affirmed herself as one of the best performers in South Africa currently.

As such, she was booked and busy the entire year, even making a name for herself internationally in 2022. However, it seems that Makhadzi cannot meet the demand that she has created for herself and her brand. This is as she becomes the first ZAlebs of 2023 to be accused of being a no-show.
Makhadzi blueticks accusations of being a no-show
Promoter, Rabs Vhafuwi, took to Facebook initially to call out Makhadzi and her team for ignoring his calls and messages. This is as Rabs believes that he is owed monies from Makhadzi and co. While he did not stipulate the actual amount, Rab did make it sound like it is an amount that Makhadzi can afford as he asked, “Do we have to fight over such a small amount?”
When asked to name specifically why he was calling out Makhadzi. Rabs then shared a thread alleging that the Haka Matorokisi hitmaker missed two performances that Rabs had booked her for.
However, Makhadzi’s fans were quick to come to her defence. This is as one tweep in particular not only confirmed that Rabs was allegedly attempting to smear Makhadzi’s name with false accusations. But they also suggested that Makhadzi did travel to the concerts in question but they were a flop.
The tweep further explained, that due this fact Makhadzi actually suffered a loss by tweeting:
“Makhadzi travelled From Gauteng to Venda With a crew and Dancers using two cars . Go calculate her expenses . Petrol of 2 cars to Venda and (back) to Gauteng. Accommodation. Food. Tollgate.”
Another detail that Rabs was accused of was that he was attempting to tarnish Makhadzi’s name because he was affiliated with her former manager, Rita Dee.
The same manager that was responsible for Makhadzi’s first headline story as a viral video of Rita not only verbally but physically abusing the performer went viral.

As such, it seems that Makhadzi realised that this was a smear campaign and decided to bluetick Rabs. But she did return to social media with her own request. It seems that following her first-ever one-woman show last year, Makhadzi is gearing up for her second of many.
However, she did make it clear that she is not looking for partners this time around. Instead she is looking for sponsors. This is as she explained that with partners, she does not have full control over the production of her shows. As such, if things go wrong, she is blamed for matters she has no control over due to being “partners” with brands. Therefore, she is only looking for sponsors.
Makhadzi expressed this by writing:
“Looking for sponsors to sponsor my upcoming one woman show, not investors…. Nanwaha khotoda utoita nne mune husina upfi partnered with who. Khotoda u maker sure everything is perfect.”
