On Thursday morning, Gigi Lamayne took to her Twitter timeline to share her story of experiencing abuse at the hands of an ex-boyfriend.
Amidst her series of tweets, the rapper reached out to Masechaba Ndlovu for an interview on her show regarding her alleged abuse.
Two hours later, the radio personality took to her social media pages to express her distaste about people viewing women who speak up about their experience of being abused as ‘airing their dirty laundry’.
Take a look at the tweets below:
When a woman cries for help, she is called an attention seeker. When she gets killed, we ask "why didn't she ask for help?" We need to get over our hypocrisy. There is no right way, or right time to break out. #NotInMyName

While some of you 'intellects' come with fancy words like 'agency', women are dying or living in fear. We cannot continue to intellectualise our approach to gender-based violence. We are in a state of emergency.

If you think it is the woman's dirty laundry that is being aired when her abuse is exposed, then you need to liberate yourself from mental slavery. Society still protects the very men that are killing our women, while we place the shame on the woman for being abused.

Although there is no confirmation on Gigi Lamayne making an appearance on the radio personality's drivetime show, the rapper has since been mum on the matter after her social media posts.
