Musa who has 4 wives already, still requests permission from his wives to take another. On his hit reality show Uthando Nes'thembu, Mseleku revealed that he wanted to have 20 kids, hence he needs another wife.
He admitted that being wealthy has made life easier because he can take care of his family. The polygamist has been persuading his wives to give him the green light to take another wife, but he told TshisaLIVE that he needs to get their collective agreement then fulfils his dream.
“I have called a number of meetings both as a collective and individually, I've expressed the feeling that the request has been rejected. My plan is to keep presenting the same thing in a different way or persuade, up until I get a collective agreement in a sense that everyone is happy about it because I wouldn't want anyone to leave me because of that decision,” he told the publication.
According to him, if it was the old way, he would have just told them, but because he is doing it the modern way he needs their permission first. “I'm asking my wives to allow me to take a fifth wife, it's no longer a question to me. I'm just waiting for them to say yes or no. And I'm doing it the modern way. If it was before, I'd be telling them that I'm taking,” he said.
He continued “The way it's supposed to be done, is for me to engage with the first wife and tell her I intend to take a fifth wife and she would communicate with the other wives but in the modern times, it does not work that way because all the wives have to be treated equally.”
Mseleku failed to fulfill MaCele's ultimatum before their 20th wedding anniversary to marry a fifth wife. "I gave Musa a timeframe to marry as many wives as possible but he had to do this before our 20th anniversary,” MaCele told Daily Sun.
She added "Now that we've reached 20 years of marriage, he cannot get married to another wife. If one of us dumps him, he cannot take another wife."
The couple celebrated their 20th anniversary and Mseleku gushed over his wife in a Facebook post, "Full 20 years anniversary. I never thought but God has been good. Ngiyabonga ku Flo my lovely grandmother and my beautiful Mother Joyce Nomathemba for guiding her so beautifully."
His son Mpumelelo Mseleku recently revealed that he has followed in his father's footsteps and is already a polygamist. Mpumelelo told Daily Sun that he wants to marry his two girlfriends.
“For now I don’t have enough money except my inheritance which I’ll use towards lobola. Again, I cannot disclose the finer details of ilobola because these are sacred discussions between my father and myself. My mother, MaYeni, is not aware of these discussions,” said Mpumelelo.
