It's been a long time since we heard from Mzambiya, heck it's been a long time since we heard from Msawawa.
So you can imagine our excitement when we heard that the boys (well, men now) are back!

That's right, we got a chance to sit down with them to catch up and talk about their upcoming single 'Imoto kaShukela'.
It's been a long time since people heard from you guys, what brings you back to the game?
Mzambiya: We're back with a new single called 'Imoto kaShukela'. We're celebrating 20 years in the music ondustry. As you know, 20 years ago myself and Msawawa collaborated and made 'Wawungakanani', so now we've met again to do a new song for 2018. It's very interesting and so far the reception for it is out of this world.
Who produced this new song and where in KZN are they from?
Mzambiya: The song was produced by 2 young guys from eNanda and interestingly they were born in 1998 when myself and Msawawa were coming up in the game. So, it just goes to show how Bulldawgs is still about bringing new talent to the fore. We could've gone to Distruction Boyz because they're relevant but we didn't because we knew what we were doing. We even went deeper than that and decided to find the talent that made the same music that is popular right now, showing that we're not about riding the wave of who's popular right now.
Since you guys are back together is there a plan to release maybe a full project together?
Msawawa: For now we're pushing 'Imoto kaShukela'. We're taking them on a ride kwimoto kashukela. And just to add on what Mzambiya said we're also coming back with Gqom, the real kind that makes people dance because you know that it's a different pace in the game especially from the youth. So, for now, we're just dropping the single and we'll hear what the fans think. If they want a full album, they'll tell us. But for now, it's 'Imoto kaShukela' we don't want to confuse them.
With you guys choosing to come back in the era of Gqom and trap do you think there's still a lane for you guys as the princes of Kwaito?
Mzambiya: Yes, I can safely say Kwaito is alive, they're still making songs which have a tempo between 45 and 110 bpm, that's still Kwaito. If you listen to Kwesta's music and the other guys' music to me it's Kwaito. There's no such thing as Kwaito being dead, people are just trying to be impossible. What happens now depends on an artist's capabilities because the truth vele is that times have changed. There's DJ Tira who's pushing the Gqom nation and for us to release a track unearthing new talent from Durban, which is where we got the beat for our new Gqom song, it simply means we're still at work and serving our purpose which is bringing new talent into the music business. So, we're more businessmen than musicians now.
When is the single going to be released?
Msawawa: It's already been playlisted on the radio stations and it will come out on all digital platforms on Friday. We'll also be doing a 9 province tour, going to the fans and doing launches of the single. Once we're done in South Africa then we take the song to the world. We want to also take this Gqom thing and grow it.
Well, there you have it. We're ready for the comeback of this awesome duo. Are you? Tell us how you feel.
