Will Mabala Noise be closing down?

Ever since news of Reggie Nkabinde's new found focus on politics and Nasty C's quiet exit from Mabala Noise broke, there has been rife speculation about what lies ahead for the label.

It has been a week since Isolezwe reported that the record label's head honcho, Reggie Nkabinde had left the label at the beginning of the year and was in the process of disinvesting all his money from it. They also reported that the company's assets would be liquidated.

News of rapper, Nasty C, defecting from the label and entering into a new distribution deal with Universal Music Group Africa also added fuel to the fire. Nasty was joining an already-long line of artists who had recently ditched the label, including the likes of Riky Rick, Gigi Lamayne and the label's co-founder, DJ Bongz.

According to multiple reports, Nkabinde has been tipped as next in line to lead the ANC Youth League, taking over from Collen "Oros" Maine.

However, in an interview with The Juice, Mabala Noise spokesperson Tumi Moatshe said that the company is not going anywhere and that reports of its demise were false.

“There is no way that Mabala Noise is closing down. Reggie is focusing on politics,” he told the publication, before adding: “Mabala is doing good under the leadership of Sikhulile Nzuza.”

The record label has also denied that Nasty is no longer part of Mabala.

After much speculation, Young rapper Nasty C has confirmed that he has joined one of the biggest music companies, Universal Music Africa for distribution. The rapper announced on his Twitter account that he has joined Universal Music Africa and he will forever and always be part of Mabala Noise. In a recent tweet, Nasty C mentioned that his part of the Universal Music Africa, he will always be part of Mabala Noise which is a record label that is owned by Govner Reggie Nkabinde. Nasty C futher mentioned that he will bring up Mr Nkabinde when he receives his Grammy Award and asked me him to continue supporting young hopefuls like him. In a response, Reggie responded by saying; Nasty C should also inspire the upcoming artists to aim high and continue opening doors for their future endeavors. #mabalanoise
