Netflix's highly anticipated local drama series Blood And Water has finally premiered and fans are super excited. However, now that the series has dropped, Mzansi cannot put their fingers to rest. Although the excitement is real, the fact that the series is only 7 episodes long puts many off. Nonetheless, Blood And Water is topping the trends list, as anticipated.
Viewers will get to see the new kids in the block and these are Leroy Siyafa, who plays Sam, a new love interest. Then we have Reece - played by Greteli Fincham, who will be introduced to two of her new friends, Pauline and Zayd, played by Katishcka Chanderlal and Alzavia Abrahams.
Another new face is Cape Town rapper Youngsta CPT, who will be making his acting debut. Last season we saw Nasty C and he too was acting for the first time.
Returning faces are the lead actresses Khosi Ngema, Ama Qamata, Natasha Thahane, Gail Mabalane, Cindy Mahlangu, and actors Thabang Molaba, Arno Greeff, Mekaila Mathys and Dillon Windvogel will all be coming back to join the madness.
Judging by the trailer which dropped last month, it seems as though love triangles are evolving and some hearts will be broken. DNA tests will also be conducted to see if Puleng Khumalo [Ama Qamata] was telling the truth about Fikile Bhele [Khosi Ngema] being her twin sister. But the fact that the DNA test sheet getting torn shows there is a new plot twist to expect and of course more secrets.
Blood and Water season 1 received rave reviews globally as it streams in over 200 countries across the world. It took the number 1 spot in a lot of countries and we hope this season is no different.
Speaking to TrueLove is Mangaliso Ngema's daughter Khosi Ngema, who said Fikile is suffering an identity crisis. Remember, Puleng lost her sister at the hospital and 17 years later, she thought she had solved her case. When she finally put the pieces together, she discovered that Fikile is her sister. She threw that information right at her without caution, totally messing up Fikile's "perfect little world."
"Fikile has always strived for perfection and cared about what everyone around her thinks of her and I guess. So, to have Puleng come out of nowhere and rip that veil off by force, distorting the perfect little world sheβs been living in, you can only imagine how scared and powerless sheβs feeling now. Sheβs forced to really look at herself and the way her actions affect the people around her, whilst also dealing with this huge identity crisis. I think sheβs growing up."
