History does have a nasty habit of repeating itself, doesn't it? Well South African award winning musician, Nathi Mankayi can attest to the mentioned notion, as he found himself on the wrong side of the law...once again.
The Nomvula hitmaker spent the night at a holding cell at Bramley Police Station in Johannesburg. Charges of business robbery were brought against him and his other two friends. The trio allegedly helped themselves to Nathi's former manager, China Mpololo's items in his office including, Laptops, Landline Phones, Printers and Cellphones.
Allegedly the police have been on the look out for Nathi and his friends since last year. They have since appeared at the Alexandra Magistrate Court, whereby their fate is yet to be determined.
According to Sowetan, upon contacting the Bramley Police Station spokesperson, Captain Molefe Mogodi confirmed to the publication that Nathi had appeared before the Alexandra court in connection to charges relating to business robbery.
The article also stated that the stolen items were later retrieved and taken back to its original owner, China Mpololo.
Clearly serving jail time is only for the regular folks on the street, but also for some of our much loved celebrities.
Earlier this year, it was widely publicised that actress and television presenter, Khanya Mkangisa was reportedly arrested in connection to charges of a hit and run around the complex of which she allegedly resides in.
The actress was accused by fellow neighbour, Katlego Mphuthi of bumping into her orange BMW and then speeding off thereafter.
In an article ran by Sunday Sun, Khanya allegedly spent a Sunday night at the Randburg Police Station. Upon confrontation by Katlego and the complex security guards, they were met with a hostile reception from Khanya's end as it was alleged that she seemed quite apprehensive. All of this has since been denied by Khanya.
We might have to wait a bit until fresh news regarding Nathi's arrest will play out. Hopefully this controversy wont put an unremovable dent on his illustrious music career.
