Last week, after he handed himself over to the police and got arrested shortly after, the outspoken online radio station owner was denied bail by the Randburg Magistrate's court because he was said to be a flight risk and he might interfere with the evidence. He is accused of inciting violence.

Ngizwe's mother, Duduzile maNtombela Mchunu, told Daily Sun that it pained her to see her son going down from the dock after his court appearance last week and being painted as a dangerous criminal, especially because she does not believe he encouraged looting.

MaNtombela Mchunu also said that she had warned her son to stop being on the front line of the whole saga.

"He said his case is different because he never even went to the courts to defend Zuma," Ngizwe's mum told the publication.

She also added that Ngizwe has only said the government failed to prevent the damage and unrest by coming up with a good way of conducting Zuma's matter.

One of Ngizwe's wives, Lindi Mchunu, was left in tears after the decision to deny her husband bail was made.

When an interviewer asked her how she felt after her husband remanded in custody, she could not speak as the emotions overcame her. However, when she regained her strength, she breathed fire. She asked why were people silent when her husband is being treated this way. Lindi further said that she was not in the mood to talk and say much about her husband's arrest.

Millionaire Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize is also believed to be at the centre of the violence and is rumoured to have met up with Duduzane Zuma and Ngizwe Mchunu at a hotel in Umhlanga, Durban, called the Oyster Box. While the social media account that has been spreading these rumours about the businesswoman and reality TV star did not give further details about this "meeting," MaMkhize has moved swiftly to dismiss these claims.

She took to her Instagram account to distance herself from politics, making it clear that she is a businesswoman and will allow for her name to be defamed. She also asked her followers to help her in getting the person behind the claims to delete them.

"I choose to be a business woman for a reason I don’t want to be a politician and I refuse to be mention in such things that are untrue , cause perception becomes a reality if not disputed.PLEASE HELP ME anyone who know this person to remove it from his wall cause it’s not true , People who have nothing to do sometimes are problematic."

Reports have also put Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, who is the daughter of the former president and is also Duduzane's twin sister, in the forefront as an instigator who encouraged and fuelled the violence through her social media accounts. However, she has not been arrested, neither have has her Twitter account been suspended as it was suggested in the past few weeks.
