There really is no better way to spend your evenings than in front of your screen watching The River. If you happened to miss some of what happened this week, let’s get you up to speed.

Lindiwe becomes Vero’s ‘blesser’

We won’t sit here and say we’re not happy about the fact that Veronica is making Lindiwe’s life difficult. And we hope we’re not the only ones who feel this way - we were really getting tired of Lindiwe getting away with everything.

The successful businesswoman thought things would go her way until her dear sister Vero showed her otherwise. Not only will Vero be staying at the Dikana household, but she will also receive an unending supply of money from Lindiwe for a very long time. How did she pull this off? Well, if you have dirt on someone you can pretty much convince them to do just about anything for you.

Vero has the upper hand (for now) but that doesn’t mean that Lindiwe won’t come up with a plan to turn the situation around. Let’s just watch this space.

Here comes trouble for Cobra… again

We have no idea how many times Cobra will find himself on the wrong side of the law. And, no matter how many times his dear mother prays for him, it seems like crime will never fully leave his blood. Sadly, he’s now found himself in a tricky situation after he was questioned in connection with the heist. In case you’ve forgotten, Cobra assisted his friends Oupa and Percy with the crime.

The worst part is that Zweli, who is a top cop, remembered seeing him at that garage on the day of the crime. However, despite seeing him there on the day, Zweli couldn’t connect the dots and believed Cobra when he told him that he had nothing to do with it. Also, he’s now vowed to help the police. This will be very interesting.

Zolani and his mother’s relationship blossoms

Is it just us or is Lindiwe a little touched by the fact that Zolani and his mother are growing closer? As much as she sometimes doesn’t treat him well, we have a feeling that deep down, Lindiwe really cares about her nephew. she did raise him, after all.

The past few days have seen Zolani and Vero’s bond getting stronger and stronger, and now that she is “cancer-free”, Zolani wants to make sure that he spends as much time with her as possible. You can’t blame him. Imagine thinking your mother is close to dying, and then finding out that she’s been given a second chance? Now that would make anyone want to hold on to every single moment. We hope he never finds out that it was all a lie because that would kill him!

We promise that there’s a lot more where that came from. Make sure you stay up to date with the latest on The River on Showmax. New episodes of the show land 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
