Ever since MTV Base introduced us to the young and not forgetting handsome Sandile Ntshingila, we've watched him blossom into one of the most likeable VJ on television.
The year 2013 proved to be a start of an amazing journey for Sandile who transitioned from just being that cool guy with a fetish for sneakers to that cool guy on television with a clear understanding of where he see's himself within the entertainment industry.
It's been five years since Sandile joined the MTV Base family and from what he's told us, MTV has opened up his world to a lot of possibilities. He further opened up about the one most important lesson the family at MTV Base has taught him about the entertainment business.
"One thing they've taught me is that you need to understand that you are part of a team of people that believe in you and the brand they stand for. Also that it is a job at the end of the day and work needs to be done. My personal lesson is to respect the crew and everyone else 'cause they make you look great and their job is as important as you being on camera."
Considering how demanding the job of a VJ is, especially when you're working for one of the biggest music channels in Africa, we couldn't help but wonder if Sandile has his eyes set on other goals in his career and if he's satisfied with his career currently. And from what we can tell, the man is very much in a good space professionally.
"So far I’m happy at the good progress my career is going, to still be on top of my game and get love from the guys I looked up to when I started and before I got in. One can never be satisfied as yet for I haven’t yet won any awards or grace any cover of a magazine but I know it will come in the right time, but it is not about the awards for my ultimate goal is to build my own Viacom. I have been learning behind the scenes how to run a production company and also gone back to my first love which is business."
Speaking about business, Sandile actually has his own production company titled - Fox Van Art that he's gotten off the ground.
"Fox Van Art is my production company that will produce dope fresh content and be a house platform for the behind the scenes work I’ll be doing. Thank you for noticing my work, so far I have done a few projects for key brands with Fox Van Art and will make it my key goal for the next fiscal year. But for now, I’m buying equipment and learning."
If there's one thing we've come to learn about Sandile is that he's got his eyes on a much greater goal than that of being just a VJ presenter. Although he thoroughly enjoys his job, it is quite inspiring that he is working on a number of projects which also includes him working on his hustle as a DJ.
The man has even started buying his own DJ equipment.
The year has almost come to an end, and one thing Sandile is certain of is that 2019 will be the year that he fully pushes himself as a businessman and MTV VJ.
