Whilst Senzo Meyiwa's murder trial is still taking center stage in the country, reports have emerged that music producer Chicco Twala, has been arrested.
According to SowetanLIVE, Chicco was arrested on Monday after allegedly pointing a toy gun at a City Power technician he mistakenly thought were cable thieves on Sunday night.
The technicians were installing the network outside his Bloubosrand home studios in Johannesburg, where the municipal service runs over the pavement.
The area had apparently been without power for a couple of days and Twala was furious. The technicians maintain that they informed him that they were working and they had every right to be there. However, he pulled out a gun, cocked it, and put it in one of the contractor's head before allegedly assaulting them.
According to a statement allegedly issued by Twala, he said his arrest is proof that no one is above the law.
“Finally I got arrested for pointing a toy gun to two men whom I thought were cable thieves who caused a blackout to six houses at my recording studios. My arrest is victory to me and defeat to all the evil people who portray me as a mafia who is behind the Senzo Meyiwa’s killing. My arrest is proof that I am not above the law.
“Haters on social media claim that I bribed judges, police including police minister Bheki Cele whom I don’t even know to protect my son...Where will I get that kind of money to bribe all these powerful people? “I am texting from my cell as we speak, waiting for my lawyers to bail me...To my haters have fun and celebrate my arrest,” reads the statement.

Chicco has been trending lately as many social media users are accusing him of allegedly protecting his son Longwe Twala, in the Senzo Meyiwa's murder. The former Orlando Pirates goalie was shot dead outside
Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s home in Vosloorus on the East Rand on October 2014, and nearly a decade later there is still no conviction for his brutal murder. However, there has been speculation as to who might have committed his murder.
Chicco Twala's son Longwe, was in the house that fateful night when Senzo was killed. There was also Kelly's sister Zandi, their mother Ntombi Khumalo, Meyiwa, and his friends. It was reported that his murder was allegedly a robbery went wrong but new details recently emerged that it was a contract hit.
Kelly has also been facing the wrath of black Twitter. since the murder of Meyiwa. She has been accused of allegedly having a hand in the murder of her then boyfriend, but she has denied the accusations on several occasions.
Her lawyer Magdalene Moonsany, recently told Enca that should her client be required to testify in court, she will be ready to verify her honesty "That will depend on the prosecution, if the prosecution requires her as a witness in court, she is a witness in the matter and she is being compliant and cooperative in the matter, So if she is required to be present in court then she will be" said Magdalene Moonsamy.
Black Twitter has been calling on music promoters to stop booking her for gigs. Their anger stems from the alleged double standard and discrimination shown to her.
