The two football clubs were scheduled to contend in the soccer field on Thursday however as per Royal AM's instructions, the PSL cancelled the match. There is an ongoing legal dispute between Royal AM and the PSL after they got snubbed their promotion to the big leagues.
Yesterday Royal AM, which belongs to Shauwn Mkhize and is chaired by her son Andile Mpisane, gave the Premier Soccer League an ultimatum to cancel yesterdays matched by 10 AM or they would have to face legal action. This was passed by Judge AJ Nyathi.
They want the league to make a decision on who should get promoted between them and Sekhukhune United which is based in Limpopo. Royal FM had been given the three points after drawing with Sekhukhune, however those 3 points were then taken from them and they got demoted.
The PSL issued a statement yesterday and it reads as follows;
“A legal dispute has arisen between Royal AM and the League as to whether the order granted by Judge AJ Nyathi [on Monday] has been suspended as a result of the filing by the League of an application for leave to appeal Judge AJ Nyathi’s order.
“The League contends that the order has been suspended, while Royal AM contends that it has not. In the circumstances, the League has elected to:
1. Postpone the start of the play-offs;
2. Seek the urgent intervention of the High Court.
“Unfortunately that means that Richards Bay Football Club and Chippa United Football Club will not be able to play their scheduled match today [Thursday]. The risks to the completion of the season are obvious but in view of the dispute, the League has elected to act with an abundance of caution even in extremely trying circumstances for all Member Clubs, their players, and those affected in this matter. Our further communication will follow as soon as we are in a position to,“ the statement reads.When they got snubbed MaMkhize did say she would be fighting for her team, and so she did. “I will fight for my team, this league won’t start, my gloves are off. I will fight for my boys because I believe they did their best,” - MaMkhize.
The dark horse that is Shauwn expressed her disappointment when she and her boys got snubbed. This is what she wrote on IG, "What has happened to me yesterday it’s not new , Who said a male dominated territory was easy ? I am still standing tall and firm on my ground not shaken by it , thanking all those that send message of support I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart! To my enemies. You don’t kick a man when he is down
“DO not rejoice over me “
“When I fall , I will rise “
“When I sit in darkness the LORD will be the light to me. I have FAITH," she captioned a picture of her in lingerie.
