Leading Amapiano vocalist Sir Trill has been making headlines the entire week. This is as the John Wick hitmaker has revealed his mental health struggles in light of his fame seemingly not matching his bank account. As reported earlier in the week that:
In a time where mental health, depression, and anxiety is still seen as another pandemic that is eating away from artists and musician. All the suicide cases of artists have been attributed to both mental health and depression.
For another artist to cry out loud about going through a mentally draining and challenging issue is very alarming. Sir Trill took to Twitter to voice some of his grievances with the status of his music. Sir Trill talks about not even getting a dime from many of his hit songs
"It’s tiring and mentally damaging. So many hits and I’ve never seen a cent. I’m tired," wrote Sir Trill.
Following his rant on Twitter, tweeps were quick to blame this fact on management as they concluded that the reason for his mental health crisis was due to Sir Trill allegedly having his DJ as his manager. But Sir Trill has since returned to social media to set the record straight.

Si Trill clarifies “bad management” issue
Taking to his Instagram Live, Sir Trill returned to set the matter straight as to what has actually caused him to make the decision to take a break from Twitter and live performances. The most topical matter he addressed is that his management is the cause of his woes. A fact he refuted as he shared that:
“For those asking (for me) to change my management, “How, my man,” when they (promoters presumably) call to ask to book Sir Trill- I’m just making an example, with you trying to book Sir Trill with R5K, R5 000 and my manager mizes you… mizes you for me. Now he is a bad manager, how?”
Moreover, Sir Trill shared how as Amapiano artists they are continually short-changed in terms of their booking fees. More especially independent Amapiano artists like himself who do not have the backing of an established or major record label. As such, he asserts it is not the management which is the problem but the promoters.
Over and above the promoters, during his Live, Sir Trill also indicated that the breakdown in his relationships with fellow Amapiano producer-DJs is the cause of his mental health breakdown. This is as during his early days, Sir Trill had strong relationships with the likes of De Mthuda, Da Muziqal Chef, Kabza de Small, and DJ Maphorisa.
However, each of those relationships has seemingly gone cold. A fact which Sir Trill seems to suggest is due to the artists in question not doing right by him as he did when they asked favors from him. Now he alleges that they do not even talk when they bump into each other at clubs in fear their altercations might turn physical due to not remunerating him for “favours” he did for them.
In terms of Twitter, he asserted his break was due to how desensitized the app is. So much so that everything that is shared eventually becomes a joke. This a trend which happened to him following his recent rant.
