Dineo Slammed For Trying To Dim Sol's Light

When Kaya 959 announced major changes to their show, they created hysteria on social media and fans were looking forward to it. Fast forward to a month or so after Sol Phenduka and Dineo Ranaka joined the Breakfast Show, fans are already calling out the producers for even thinking this duo would work, because it simply isn't.

Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka co-host the Kaya959 Breakfast slot which was previously hosted by Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlope.

Even though there were mixed reactions from listeners especially with Sol's appointment, some were looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table.

Many have pointed out how Dineo Ranaka talks above Sol in an attempt to overshadow him and dim his light. This was pointed out when they had an interview with Somizi Mhlongo where Dineo seemed to ignore Sol and would cut him short before he could finish off his sentence.

Others were not impressed by how Dineo would send Sol on some errands while the show is live.

"Honestly I feel for Sol heii maybe it's because I'm a fan but the way Dineo is trying to outshine Sol pains me she doesn't even give him a chance to speak when they've guests," one fan wrote bringing receipts.

Chillers were unimpressed with Sol joining radio but he set the record straight on one episode of Podcast And Chill. 

“You (MacG) had a gig on Live Amp it’s just a pity someone complained about it but you lost that gig. But you took that gig. Back on mainstream, that’s something for the podcasting community to say that what we are doing is so dope that that side recognizes us and our abilities and talents to do what we do best.”

“If you got that gig (the tv gig) and kept doing it, all the other competitors will stop hiring what you guys complain about – industry girls, industry guys who act and no nothing about broadcasting and presenting. Then it changes the whole landscape.”

“The reason we are sitting with you on the table is the podcast and what we do on the podcast. They are radio people, they’ve known my abilities before the podcast. Shout out to the it was not really an ultimatum," he said. 

MacG even gave him his blessings and said he was happy for him.
