Somizi could not help but gush over Uncle Waffles especially her work ethic, saying she arrived on time and played her set and left. He even commended her team for working and not just enjoying her money.
"Last night was so cute and special...I finally got to meet the talented Uncle Waffles. We were booked at the same gig @coco_town_meat_lounge_ in Benoni. What a sweet humble lady....but as I was enjoying her set I could not stop thinking about what DJ Zinhle has done to the DJ industry....she's really the pioneer for women in the continent. Just thought I should give her the flowers here."
"Back to waffles, as a perfectionist and a professional that I am in my work, I watched everything from the minute you walked in with your team to when you were on stage and till you left. You're on the ball young lady. You arrived on time, played on time, and your team is super focused. It's not just people hanging around. The world is your oyster nana."
Somizi Mhlongo is all about preserving black culture and teaching African kids their African languages and so on. So much to the point that he believes such practices should be done with pets, more specifically black dogs.

In a rather hilarious Instagram video, the Idols SA judge told his followers who are owners of black dogs to teach their dogs certain black practices from the old days so they continue the trend.
“This one is dedicated to black parents of dogs, do you hear me? Black parents of dogs, I’m worried about the dogs, the black dogs losing their culture, their tradition. Black parents of dogs, stop talking to dogs in English," he said.
He said dogs must know their mother tongues and certain words like voets*k which means go in vernac.
"The dog must know their mother tongues. I'm worried about the black dogs losing their culture and traditions. Black parents of dogs, stop talking to your dogs in English. Speak to your dog in your mother tongue. Dogs these days are Westernised and lost their culture of going to the dustbins, barking outside at night on a chain with a long draad (wire); that is black dog culture. Now Dogs are sleeping in beds and told to ‘sit Booboo, sit.’ That's Western culture.”
Then he mentioned some celebrities who own dogs such as Ayanda Thabethe and Thando Thabethe who own dogs but do not teach them the original black culture.
“Black dogs these days don't know what it means to go ‘voets*k!’ They don't know their ancestors Rex, Spotty, Bobby, they only know Cobby, Brinette, no, no! Now dogs are sleeping in bed, being told ‘sit boo boo, sit’.”
