Radio personality and TV presenter Thando Thabethe recently announced that she would be leaving YFM and end her stint on the show 'Club 808'.
The actress, presenter and radio DJ has been on shows including 'Quest for Fame', 'Backchat' and 'Celebrity Fast Facts'.
Thabethe released a statement and said: "I'm so grateful for the opportunities given to me by Club 808 and YFM."
According to Daily Sun, YFM didn't renew her contract.
"Her contract was not renewed. It was a business decision and she's not part of the new line-up," YFM CEO, Kanthan Pillay, confirmed.
An insider at e.tv told the paper that 'Club 808' was struggling for viewers and the presenter opted to leave the show.
Another insider added that the show lost viewers when Dineo Ranaka and Mo Flava left.
"Our viewers were already used to the two, and as soon as they brought Thando in, the show started losing viewers because they couldn't relate to her," said the insider.
Communications manager at e.tv, Matlapulana Ragoasha confirmed that Thabethe left 'Club 808' and her last show was on 29 March.
Thabethe added that while she was sad about the developments, there were new ventures in the pipeline.
"As sad as we are about this, we are excited about the latest venture that we'll soon announce," she explained.
