This comes after a social media user took to the TL to "expose" media personality Bonang Matheba for offering her help and then not fulfilling her promise.
Social media was torn with many choosing to side with Bonang while others chose to vilify her for what seemed like too long of a delay in making the payment required to help the student in question.
As a result, Matheba was a hot topic for days on end and this prompted Makhumalo to speak up. Check out what she had to say.
People's outward bullying of Bonang is really painful to watch. When did we become such a judgmental and unforgiving nation? #Thread

People who make promises should live up to those promises. Calling someone out on their lies is the correct thing to do

He fans interacted with her throughout the discussion and she answered each and every one of their rebuttals.
We come from broken families and pain. Often with no one to blame. She's almost become the face of the cause of this pain It's sad but😔

Misplaced aggression. Surely they only feel better for only a little while and then reality knocks again, it becomes a vicious cycle

It's not about liking or not liking her its just the level of abuse and disrespect directed towards her is shocking. Hawu ngeke oe

So people must agree to everything she says? She's in the wrong and needs to be told, we are here to build and not destroy. Wrong is wrong!

There's ways to disagree without bullying or disrespecting a person.

Nature of this Twitter beast. Naye Bonang was here "❤" hurtful mean-spirited tweets her fans were tweeting about Dj Zinhle once upon a time.

It starts becoming a projection of how angry we are. The anger expressed towards her is misplaced. Sihlulwa yinkinga zethu emakhaya

I don't think Twitter was intended to be a tool to bring other people down. Instead of attacking other people use he energy to fix yourself

Asiyekeleni ukugcekelana phansi, we are a great nation with so much to celebrate, let's celebrate our country and all that comes with it
— Makhumalo Mseleku (@MakhumsMseleku) September 26, 2017
At the end of the day, Makhums (as she is affectionately known) doesn't care how you feel about Bonang, she just wants respect to be the bare minimum.
Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm just saying let's do better
— Makhumalo Mseleku (@MakhumsMseleku) September 26, 2017
God forbid if Bonang had to pass away all these people will cry forgetting how they treated her, asibeni nomusa ma Africa.
— Makhumalo Mseleku (@MakhumsMseleku) September 26, 2017
Let's allow black excellence to aspire and inspire and not be a reason to be a monster, I truly believe we are better than this.
— Makhumalo Mseleku (@MakhumsMseleku) September 26, 2017
Social media really did kill the star just because we have access to people we look up to doesn't give us a right to abuse them
