Zakes Bantwini's Osama is not hailed as song of the year for no reason and his supporters are proving why the song should be. Not only is the song getting a lot of airplay, but it reportedly broke records of being the first and only song to stay at number 1 for 10 consecutive weeks on South African radio charts.

The song Osama first got popularity during his set at Shimza's Kunye Music festival. Social media peeps put pressure on Zakes Bantwini to release the song before it's initial release date. The pre-release even got to taste the number 1 spot on Radio Monitor's charts, making his wife Nandi Madida proud.

"We are hoping you guys can break the record already it has made history as one of the very few songs that has ever gone number 1 before release, and you guys made that possible. It's almost unheard of, it's incredible," she said on Instagram live.

"When I heard it was such a beautiful, inspiring spiritual song and I think one that we all needed because it has been such a tough year for everyone and it just feels like there is a new beginning and new chapter for all of us - and it is spring, so we will be in thongs in Dubai," she joked.

And her wish became Zakes' command, the song, according to Radio Monitor has broken the record of being the first song to ever accommodate the number 1 spot for 10 weeks in a row. This is not only exclusive to SA music only, but other international songs as well.

According to TshisaLive, before Zakes released his gem, Prince Kaybee was the only artist to have a number one song for 12 weeks but not consecutively. This is for his hit song Fetch Your Life featuring Msaki.

A huge congratulations to Zakes Bantwini, and hopefully this will prove Black Coffee otherwise, as he said he prefers the original song instead of Zakes Bantwini's sampled version.

Black Coffee did give a shout out to the song and said it is nice but he mentioned that he will not be playing it anywhere, "It is nice but I won’t I still prefer the original."

Black Coffee said that he wished people who created the "original" version could get their moment to shine.  "We all doing our best to support each other and they don't have a voice to cry out when such happens and I unfortunately can't keep quiet someone has to say something. This particular song isn't even out yet it's just been played by DJ's exclusively and now it's here."

Zakes' wife Nandi said Coffee needs to see a shrink if he believes Osama is not original. On Lasizwe's ‘Drink or Tell the Truth’ she said Osama is original, “Of course it’s an original… the song is actually a reflection of where everyone should be. We should all be positive, we should all be happy for one another – especially as black people we cannot afford to divide and rule,” she replied.

Lasizwe was not satisfied with Nandi's answer so he dug deeper until she threw shade at Coffee, “My sister is a psychiatrist and I hate to be so deep on a show like this but I think it is important for people watching. A lot of us have childhood traumas and really need to review and seek help and therapies… I’m saying all of us,” she said.
