Zodwa’s “Initiation Ceremony” Leaves Fans Confused

It was not that long ago when exotic dancer and socialite Zodwa Wabantu took to her Instagram to share a post that left many wondering whether she was now a sangoma. This was after she posted a picture of herself wearing traditional clothing normally worn by sangomas.

And while many were still speculating as to whether she was really considering reconnecting to her traditional roots, her recent post has proven that she is seriously all in. In her Instagram post, Zodwa is seen kneeling down, while what seems to be an initiation process is taking place. 

Taking to her comment section you can already imagine how fans have shown up in numbers to react to this photo. For once, it seems Mzansi approves of this step Zodwa is taking, saying that they could not be more proud of her.

On Twitter, the reactions are pretty different with many saying that this is no initiation process because the event looks nothing like what it usually does when a Sangoma is being initiated. 

For others, the question on their mind is, isn’t Zodwa a Zulu, how is she all of a sudden being initiated to become a Sangoma? It seems the whole event is leaving fans confused as they are not quite sure what Zodwa is doing exactly.

 They have also gone ahead to point out that the conductor of the ceremony is wearing designer shoes, and Zodwa just happened to take milk and cookies as an offering to her own initiation ceremony?

One thing that is for sure is that fans believe that Zodwa is just using this as a means of confusing her enemies when in reality there really is nothing she is doing. 

So while it seems that some of her fans are happy that she is finally embracing her traditional roots and reconnecting with her ancestors, others are not buying the whole charade.

Zodwa was just recently celebrating her son’s birthday shortly before all this happened. She took to her Instagram to pen a heartfelt message to her son and even shared some baby photos of Vuyo and he is looking all sorts of adorable.

Despite the many times that Zodwa has been put under fire for how she raises her son, especially after that incident when she took Vuyo to the club, it is clear that she lets no one mess with her child and has time and time again slammed anyone who has dared to raise a word against her son. 

And with the number of times we have seen Zodwa take part in these initiation ceremonies, her haters better watch out. Her ancestors will be working overtime now. Hectic!
