Musician and producer Zwai Bala recently opened a case of assault against his TKZee band mate, Tokollo 'Magesh' Tshabalala.

According to the Daily Sun, Bala reported Magesh to the police after he hit him in the face.

In his statement to the police, Bala reportedly states that he was visiting Magesh at his home, when they became embroiled in an argument, which was apparently "about travelling".

"Magesh started shouting and swearing at me. He called me derogatory names," Bala wrote in his testimony.

He continues to say that his friend shouted "Do you know who I am? Do you know who Magesh is?", before dashing towards him where he sat.

Unnerved by Magesh's increasingly aggressive behaviour, Bala decided to scarper, but the angry singer followed him to his car, where he "hit me with a sharp object on the face".

"I was bleeding heavily because of the open wound on my forehead," Bala adds.

"I got into the car but he tried to grab the keys. I started my car and tried to knock him because he was holding on to the door. He butted his head on my windscreen and broke it. This broke the rear-view mirror."

Zwai is said to have concrete proof of the attack, because he drove directly to Fourways hospital to get the "huge cut to the forehead and between his eyes" seen to. His face was reportedly also swollen, his nose broken, and the inside of his upper lip cut.

After being arrested and appearing in the Randburg Magistrate's Court, Magesh has been released on R1000 bail and is scheduled to return to court in April.
