South Africa’s renowned and award-winning creative artist, Dr. Esther Mahlangu has made history again by being the first African to be commissioned to create a painting for the Gallery inside a new Phantom.
Dr. Esther was commissioned by the esteemed brand to design the interior and exterior trim of her Ndebele heritage-inspired artwork for the new Rolls-Royce Phantom.
A week ago, Dr. Esther hinted that she would be unveiling the ‘Mahlangu’ Rolls Royce phantom The Melrose Gallery at One&Only Cape Town in February.

A week ago, Dr. Esther hinted that she would be unveiling the ‘Mahlangu’ Rolls Royce phantom The Melrose Gallery at One&Only Cape Town in February.
“In February I will unveil the 'Mahlangu' Rolls-Royce Phantom at The Melrose Gallery at One&Only Cape Town. I created a painting that was commissioned for the 'Gallery' inside a new Phantom. The car will be on display from 13 to 16 Feb 2020. Photo's will follow after the unveil,” she wrote.
Fast forward to 2020 she delivered with passion. In a sweet and short captioned she revealed the design at The Melrose Gallery in Cape Town. She wrote " Dr. Mahlangu unveils the "Mahlangu Rolls Royce Phantom ".
Dr. Mahlangu might be only 84 but she is living her dream and continues to soar to greater heights in her passion for the Ndebele inspired designs. She is no stranger to collaborating with prestigious brands. In 2016 she collaborated with the BMW Group to redefine a BMW 7 Series.
