More than a thousand people descended on the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto campus on Thursday evening for yet another session of sniff, swirl and spit.
The three-day lifestyle festival, which ended on Sunday, attracted both connoisseurs and novices.Mnikelo Mangciphu, the festival’s co-founder and owner of Morara Wine and Spirit Emporium in Soweto, said the great attendance proves that the people of Soweto have become discerning wine enthusiasts and that perceptions are changing.
Emerging and famous wine brands were on full display at their respective stalls manned by personnel eager to impress with their wine speak.
Metro FM DJ Unathi Msengana, along with former Isidingo actress Hlubi Mboya, were the hostesses.
