17 years after the original film was released, Independence Day director Roland Emmerich has announced that there are two sequels in the pipeline.
The original film, starring Will Smith, was released back in 1996. If you can remember that far back you might recall that the sci-fi film was all about an alien invasion which took place on July 4th - when American's celebrate their annual holiday, Independence Day.
No word on whether Will Smith will reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller...We'll keep you posted.
