Courtesy of ABSA and Redflag ZAlebs hopped on a decked out red tour bus for an exciting trip around Johannesburg CBD in light of this year's Joburg City Festival.

The aim of the bus tour was to educate us guest commuters about the history of Johannesburg CBD. The festival shall commence tomorrow the 2nd of October. Set to take place in and around Johannesburg CBD, the festival promises to feature nine main performances in the different sections of town.

Now what would a tour bus be without a couple of celebrity appearances? As seen on our social media platforms, we were accompanied by the likes of Khabonina, Simba and comedian David Kibuuka who was churning out the jokes for everyone's listening pleasure.

Our first stop was in Millpark which is the home of complex, refurbished industrial spaces. We also passed the infamous building IL Giardo, which is well known for hosting poetry sessions and live music. All you art kids will definitely enjoy that part of town.

If you're interested in touring museums, you should consider taking a tour to Constitution Hill which is the home to South Africa’s architectural gem, the Constitutional Court as well as three astounding prison museums.

The bus also took us to places like Braamfontein, Park Station, Retail District, Corporate Mining District, Western Edge, Newtown, Fordsburg, ABSA Campus, Fashion District, Maboneng District and our final destination was at the Ellispark district.

The festival takes place across 11 inner-city districts from 2-5 October 2014. The entire festival is based on the use of public transport. If you thinking of attending the festival you should hop on a Rea Vaya bus or a festival shuttle at a dedicated parking area and have yourself a great time town.
